What Is Electroforming?

Electroforming creates unique designs by growing copper onto a conductive material that results in organic looking one-of-a-kind pieces. The electroforming process can take anywhere from 12-48 hours, depending on the size and desired look that’s trying to be achieved. Each piece is polished, oxidized and then polished again to bring out details, and then sealed twice to protect the finish.

Copper will naturally darken and oxidize due to the nature of the metal. The sealant will slow this process down, but will NOT stop it.

To help preserve the finish of your piece do not submerge it in water or use soaps to clean it. Polishing can be done with a simple soft dry cloth. Copper is a malleable metal and although strong it is best not to tug or yank on the bails that support your piece.

OXIDIZING aka PATINA
